Title: Effects of abamectin, volk oil, detergent and sulfur in control of grape erineum mite, Colomerus vitis pagenstecher (Acari: Eriophyidae) in vineyards of west-Azerbaijan Province, Iran

Grape erineum mite (GEM), Colomerus vitis Pagenstecher, is one of the major pests of grapevine. As this pest influences the quality and quantity of grape, hence, to control it, applying some practical and environmental friendly methods were arranged. This research was conducted in a completely randomized block design in an experimental vineyard in West-Azerbaijan Province, Iran during 2016 to 2017 with 10 treatments including abamectin, volk oil, detergent, abamectin+volk oil+detergent, abamectin+volk oil, abamectin+detergent, volk oil+detergent, sulfur 3.5 and 4.5% wt. and water (testifier). Abamectin (10 ml/ 1000 ml of water, 1.8% EC), volk oil (2.5 l/100 l of water, 80% l), detergent (0.5l/1000 l of water) and sulfur (3.5 and 4.5%) were applied with the mentioned concentrations. Spraying was done on three dates (17 March, 30 June and 4 April) and sampling for seven times. Percentage of efficiency was calculated with Henderson-Tilton formula. According to results, all treatments including abamectin showed ≥ 90% efficacy, whereas other treatments without abamectin like volk oil and detergent showed 72-88 and 65-86% mortality, respectively. Sulfur 3.5 and 4.5% wt. in both second and third spraying stages by 43-54 and 47-65%, respectively, controlled the GEM < 90%. Also the efficiency of all treatments didn’t show significant change by passing of time in all samplings. To control this pest around economic threshold and less adverse impacts to the nature, applying volk oil (2.5 l/100 l of water) and detergent (0.5l/1000 l of water) in late winter is advisable. © 2019, Agri.
